I’ve been a big fan of Gogo Philip for since my uni days. Whenever I have the pleasure of nipping down to the Bullring in Birmingham to meet my sister, or on one of many “business” trips to London, I always stop by the stands in Selfridges and Topshop to have a good browse. The designs are ballsy, each is a statement in itself and even the daintiest pieces have tonnes of attitude.

At first, I was very excited to find out Gogo was teaming up with Disney. But after a glimpse at the first collection the brand brought out earlier this year, I was disappointed. I felt the collection fell a little flat and nothing much jumped out at me. The second collection, however, now that I do like. Based around the strong Mickey Mouse silhouette, the new release is made up of 3 necklaces, 4 pairs of earrings, a bracelet and a ring, and is available to buy exclusively from ASOS and the brand’s Cheshire Street store in Shoreditch.

If you’ve been reading for a while, you’ll probably know that, for me, more is more. That’s part of the reason I love Gogo Philip. I have no problem wearing any piece of jewellery that references my childhood hero, but it’s extra special that Gogo has made him so damn gaudy. Sign me up for the Mickey Mouse Cuff Bracelet £22, Cut Out Mickey Mouse Ring £15 and the Linked Mickey Mouse Necklace £22. Or, wait a minute… I do like those spikes… decisions decisions.

Does this collection do it for you? How do you feel about Gogo Philip’s take on Mickey? When it comes to jewellery do you make statements or keep it dainty?
